SwissTool is extremely handy, practical and compact. It is a comprehensive toolkit in a small space. You will find almost endless uses for SwissTool both at home and outdoors.

The black finish of the tool protects against corrosion. The black protective layer is made by an alkaline treatment called oxidation. The protective layer is safe for humans and animals (EC 1935/20049) and can be cleaned according to the instructions in the user manual.

The oxidation process involves the treatment of tool parts in a number of different materials, after which the alkaline material remaining on the surface is dissolved in water. During the treatment, the oxidizing materials are heated to a temperature of 120-130 ° C. Each part of the tool is treated and cleaned after the first oxidation step. At this stage, the tool parts have not yet acquired their characteristic black color.

Next, the tool parts are soaked in hydrochloric acid, rinsed and left in the water. Excess salt left in the process is rinsed off with a water and the heated parts gets oiled. The oil encloses the oxidation layer and is absorbed into the part of the tool to be treated. In fact, in oxidation, oil is the substance that prevents corrosion and gives it its characteristic surface color. The whole long process is for absorbing oil on the surface of the tool.

Please note that the first time you use the tool, it may leave black marks on your hands.
